What is Valleys Dance?
Valleys Dance is a pioneering partnership between the
Arts Council of Wales and the six south east Local Authorities - Blaenau
Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhonda Cynon Taff, Torfaen,
managed by Community Dance Wales.
What are the key aims?

To build
on the dance infrastructure across its entire spectrum, from community
activity to professional performance, within each Local Authority
area

To raise the profile and awareness of dance
within and across the
six Local Authorities

To develop and maximize effective partnerships to
create dance opportunities

valleys newsDancing Themselves Better… posted 13-10-2006 We’re always being reminded of the health benefits of dancing; it can tone muscles, keep excessive weight off, improve fitness and increase self esteem; but young patients in the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend are being given the opportunity to literally dance themselves well!
Valleys Dance Film posted 01-09-2006 CDW, Valleys Dance Initiative is in for an interesting autumn -they are going to be working with the media department of Valley and Vale Community Arts in Bridgend to create a short dance film.
Valleys Dance Audit posted 01-09-2006 At the request of the steering group for the Valleys Dance Initiative, Helen, the Valleys Dance Co-ordinator is presently carrying out an audit of all dance activities that are taking place in the Valleys with the aim of establishing whether or not there has been an increase in dance activities in the Valleys since the last audit in 2004.
