Introducing you to the skills you need to lead dance activities for young people in your community
What is the Leaders in Dance course (LID)?
This is a course offering participants an introduction to the basic skills needed to lead dance for young people in the community.
What will I get at the end of the course?
On successful completion you will receive 6 credits at Open College Network (OCN) Level 2. OCN qualifications are nationally recognised by employers and the 'Leaders in Dance-Youth' course will provide an introduction to the practical knowledge and skills needed to promote safe and appropriate dance activities in a wide range of youth settings.
Who is the course for?
The course is for anyone who enjoys dance and wishes to develop dance leadership skills. We welcome applicants from a range of different backgrounds and experiences, including dancers, youth workers, teachers, care workers and community workers.
You should be at least 16 years of age with some experience of dance and/or community work.
How is the Leaders In Dance -Youth' course structured?
The course comprises of:
ASSESSMENT is by attendance, by completing the workbook, plus 'Personal Evaluation' and tutor assessment of practical sessions.
